Six people with Down’s syndrome have been hired to work in the Palace of Westminster. They are part of the WorkFit programme, which aims to improve the employment rate of people with #learningdisabilities.

The Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, has praised their talents and contributions, and said their appointment is “long overdue”. This is a great example of how people living with LD can achieve their potential and make a difference in society.

But there is still a long way to go, as less than 5% of people with learning disabilities are in #paidemployment. We need to support more initiatives like WorkFit, and challenge the stereotypes and barriers that prevent people with LD syndrome from accessing meaningful work. We’re proud to serve the community care sector with our #learningdisability solutions, designed to unleash their fullest potential and be their absolute best.
